Part number 985-24-186 is the FOX® 2.0 Performance Series 3.5-4 inch lift rear reservoir shock, sold individually with a black-anodized CNC-machined billet aluminum reservoir clamp, engineered for 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL running 3.5-4 inches of lift.
IMPORTANT: This is the 3.5-4 inch lift rear shock for the Wrangler JL. FOX® also offers this same rear shock in a 4.5-6 inch lift configuration (part number 985-24-188). Confirm your vehicle’s actual lift height before ordering — installing the wrong lift-height shock will affect ride height, travel, and handling.
The aluminum-bodied FOX® 2.0 Performance Series Reservoir shock delivers race-developed damping performance in a bolt-on package. Its 2.0″ impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum body dissipates heat faster than a conventional steel-body shock, and the clear-anodized finish resists corrosion over time.
The external reservoir increases oil and nitrogen capacity beyond what a standard smooth-body shock can hold, maintaining consistent damping performance on long, rough trails where heat buildup would otherwise cause fade. The included black-anodized billet reservoir mounting clamp is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
A race-developed high-flow damping piston paired with application-specific valving gives this shock predictable ride quality across rough terrain. The 5/8″ shaft is hard chrome plated over heat-treated alloy steel, and a redundant sealing pack — main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal — protects internals from dirt and moisture. FOX® backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
