Part number 985-26-055 is a FOX® 2.0 Performance Series smooth body shock with 14.12in of travel, eyelet mounts on both ends, and a clamp-mounted external reservoir with a manual compression damping (CD) adjuster, built for universal off-road and suspension applications.
IMPORTANT: This shock has eyelet mounts on both ends and an integrated CD adjuster. FOX® offers this same reservoir shock design across multiple travel lengths under different part numbers, each with its own extended and compressed length. FOX® does not publish vehicle-specific fitment for this universal shock, so confirm the 14.12in travel and the 35.02in extended / 20.9in compressed lengths against your application’s mounting points before ordering – this length will not interchange with shorter or longer travel versions in the same product line.
This FOX® 2.0 Performance Series shock uses an impact-extruded, clear-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum body that dissipates heat faster than a conventional steel-body shock, delivering consistent damping performance under sustained off-road use.
The clamp-mounted external reservoir increases available oil and nitrogen capacity beyond what a standard monotube shock can hold, improving heat management and damping consistency over long, rough sections of trail or washboard road. The reservoir clamp and other components are CNC-machined from black-anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum. A race-developed high-flow piston is matched with application-specific valving to deliver a controlled, predictable ride.
The reservoir includes a manual compression damping (CD) adjuster, letting the installer fine-tune compression damping to match vehicle weight, tire size, and terrain without disassembling the shock.
The shaft is 5/8in hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel, and the shock uses a redundant sealing pack system consisting of a main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal to keep contaminants out and oil in over extended service life. This shock is backed by the FOX® limited lifetime warranty.

This is a universal-application FOX® 2.0 Performance Series shock, not tied to a specific make or model – match it to your build by travel (14.12in) and the 35.02in extended / 20.9in compressed lengths, eyelet-to-eyelet mounting configuration. This is the longest-travel eyelet-mount version in the FOX® 2.0 Performance Series reservoir line offered here; shorter-travel versions (8.12in, 10.12in, 12.12in) are sold under separate part numbers and are not interchangeable with this length.
