FOX 987-24-014 is a 2.5 Performance Series Smooth Body front shock with an internal floating piston (IFP) and Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) valving, engineered for 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL models running 3.5 to 4 inches of lift.
IMPORTANT: This listing is for the FRONT shock only, valved specifically for a 3.5″-4″ lift height. This shock is sold individually; order two for a complete front axle installation. For the rear axle at this same 3.5″-4″ lift height, the matching shock is FOX 987-24-015, sold separately.
FOX 2.5 Performance Series shocks deliver the benefits of a larger 2.5-inch shock body without the added complexity of a piggyback reservoir or external compression adjusters. The 2.5-inch impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum shock body is finished with type II clear anodizing to dissipate heat and resist corrosion, while a 5/8″ hard chrome shaft rides through vehicle-specific, position-sensitive valving and a larger piston for improved on-road comfort and off-road control.
Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology adds usable, position-sensitive rebound damping control near the top of the shock’s travel. As the shock approaches full extension, HTO routes oil through a secondary shim stack to slow shaft speed, softening harsh top-outs. This is especially beneficial on vehicles running heavier, more aggressive tires or lifted above OEM ride height, where unloaded suspension travel increases, as is the case with this taller 3.5″-4″ lift valving.
An internal floating piston (IFP) separates the shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen charge inside the shock body, keeping damping consistent and preventing oil aeration under hard use. FOX backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

This shock fits 2018-2026 Jeep Wrangler JL models running 3.5″-4″ of lift and is valved specifically for that lift range on the front axle. This is the front shock only, valved for 3.5″-4″ lift. The matching rear shock at this same lift height is FOX 987-24-015; it is not interchangeable with this front-position shock.
