The FOX® 987-62-001 2.5 Performance Series HTO rear shock is a bolt-on, position-sensitive suspension upgrade engineered for 2021-2026 Ford Bronco applications, reusing the factory rear spring for a direct fit.
IMPORTANT: This listing is for the REAR shock only (one unit). The front application for this platform is sold separately under FOX® part number 987-62-000. This shock reuses the OEM rear spring; the spring is not included. Fitment on Sasquatch-equipped Broncos is limited to 0-1″ of lift; standard 4-door Broncos are covered up to 2″ of lift. Built around a 2.5-inch impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum shock body, the 987-62-001 uses vehicle-specific valving and a larger piston to improve both on-road comfort and off-road control compared to the factory shock. A Type II clear-anodized body finish dissipates heat efficiently and resists corrosion, while an internal floating piston (IFP) keeps shock oil fully separated from the high-pressure nitrogen charge for consistent, fade-free damping.
Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology gives this shock usable, position-sensitive rebound damping control both on and off the pavement. As the shock nears full extension, HTO routes oil through a secondary shim stack to slow shaft speed, reducing harsh top-outs and improving ride quality. This is particularly beneficial on Broncos running heavier, more aggressive tires or lifted beyond OEM ride height.
The shock uses a 5/8″ hard chrome shaft for wear resistance and long service life, paired with an OEM-style top mount and eyelet bottom mount for a factory-style bolt-in installation. FOX® backs the 2.5 Performance Series with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
