The FOX® 983-02-054 Performance Series 2.0 IFP Coilover Shock is a front-position, aluminum-bodied coilover with 4.19in of travel, built for 2005-2021 Nissan Frontier, 2005-2012 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2005-2015 Nissan Xterra applications running 0in-2in of lift.
IMPORTANT: Fitment is front position only and covers a 0in-2in lift range. Year coverage varies by model: 2005-2021 Nissan Frontier, 2005-2012 Nissan Pathfinder, and 2005-2015 Nissan Xterra. This listing is for one (1) front coilover shock, sold individually. A second unit is required to complete the front axle, and the rear shock is sold separately.
This bolt-on Performance Series Coil-Over IFP shock is designed as a direct replacement that requires no modification to install. It is engineered to level the truck front-to-rear and is available for both stock-height and lifted applications that re-use the stock shock mounting.
The shock body is a 2.0in impact-extruded and CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum one-piece design with a clear-anodized finish that increases cooling capacity and resists rust over time. Internally, an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) monotube design separates the shock oil from a high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber, eliminating oil aeration so the factory-tuned, application-specific valving performs consistently. A locking, threaded spring preload ring retains a racing-spec coil spring selected to deliver the correct spring rate and allows ride height and preload adjustment. The vehicle-specific upper mount uses a composite bushing to isolate noise and vibration.
Componentry is black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the shaft is 5/8in hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel. Sealing is handled by a redundant pack system (main seal, wiper seal, scraper seal) riding on large-diameter, heavy-duty spherical bearings for long service life.
