HPS (High Performance Street) is the Hawk Performance® street compound for street-legal vehicles. It offers a higher coefficient of friction than stock brake pads, and Hawk Performance® states it can provide 20-40% more stopping power and higher resistance to brake fade than most standard replacement pads.
Less fade means better pedal feel and more consistent performance, in a durable brake pad that generates less dust. Hawk Performance® lists a smooth braking feel, excellent performance for spirited driving, gentle treatment of rotors with extended pad life, consistent brake release characteristics and increased stopping power. HPS has a 100-500 F optimal temperature range and 100-700 F operating temperatures.
The HB658 backing plate shape measures 7.55 in. (192 mm) x 2.49 in. (63 mm), with a total pad thickness of 0.570 in. (14 mm) including core and friction material. Hawk Performance® pads are designed to work with iron/metal rotors only. Proper bed-in per the Hawk Performance® installation and bed-in procedure is required for best performance. Warranty: Hawk Performance® Street Performance Limited Lifetime Warranty: warranted to be free of defects in workmanship and materials. The warranty does not apply to normal wear or to damage caused by negligence, lack of maintenance, accident, abnormal operations, or improper installation or service.
