The BedStep2 uses a simple foot-actuated deploy-and-retract mechanism. Press down on the outside edge of the step pad with your foot to deploy; kick up on the underside to retract. No handles, cables, or power connections are required. When retracted, the step tucks flush and out of the way. The mounting hardware attaches via U-clips that drop into factory cutouts in the frame rail, with final torque values of 16 ft-lbs at the frame mount and 20 ft-lbs at the linkage assembly for a solid, rattle-free installation.
