The ARB® CKBLTA12 Brushless Twin Motor Onboard 12V Air Compressor is a dual-motor, 100% duty cycle onboard air source rated at 9.18 CFM at 0 PSI and 6.20 CFM at 29 PSI, with a maximum output pressure of 150 PSI — fully compatible with ARB® Air Lockers and the complete ARB® air accessories ecosystem.
IMPORTANT: The CKBLTA12 requires a continuous 90-amp power supply at a minimum of 12.5 volts (vehicle running) — verify your charging system and wiring can sustain this draw before installation. A minimum of 50 mm (2 inches) of ventilation clearance must be maintained around the rear cooling fan screens. High-temperature connections made directly at the compressor output must be rated to at least 150°C (300°F); standard valves and couplings should be connected after an air tank, external manifold, or a minimum 1.2 m (47 in.) length of high-temperature hose. The CKBLTA12 Brushless Twin has a different mounting bolt pattern than ARB’s existing brushed compressor lineup — existing CKMTA12 brackets are not compatible. The CKBLTA12 delivers 50% more air output than ARB’s previous market-leading brushed twin compressor, driven by two brushless electric motors — each paired with its own dedicated active cooling fan. The result is a compressor capable of sustained, high-volume output without thermal throttling or mandatory cool-down periods, rated at a true 100% duty cycle.
The CKBLTA12 incorporates ARB’s Electronic Speed Control, which continuously adjusts motor speed to maintain consistent output across varying ambient temperatures and vehicle charging system conditions. Onboard Status Reporting delivers live diagnostics through both audio and visual alerts, giving the operator real-time feedback on compressor health. Voltage and Overload Protection guards against power spikes, voltage drops, overcurrent events, and motor stalls, protecting both the compressor and the vehicle’s electrical system.
The twin-motor configuration includes Smart Start — a staggered power-on sequence that staggers motor activation at startup to reduce the inrush current spike. This allows the CKBLTA12 to start cleanly on vehicles with smaller alternators or tighter charging margins. If the charging system becomes too strained during operation, the compressor will automatically shed one motor rather than shutting down entirely, keeping air flowing in adverse conditions. Relays are eliminated from the system entirely, simplifying installation wiring.
The CKBLTA12 ships with a cam-lock quick-release mounting bracket, allowing the compressor to be removed from its mount without tools for service or repositioning. The unit is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. ARB backs the CKBLTA12 with a 3-year warranty. Installation is compatible with the full ARB® air accessories range, including existing hose kits, fittings, inflators, and ARB® Air Locker solenoid systems.
