The Diode Dynamics™ DD6893P is the SS3 Stage Series 3″ SAE Yellow Pro LED Pod, sold as a pair, delivering 5,796 raw lumens and 2,700 measured lumens per pod at 36 watts in a selective yellow 3000K output — designed for high-contrast illumination in fog, rain, dust, and low-visibility conditions; includes two pods (each with integrated 6-inch Deutsch-style pigtail and bare leads) and two adjustable mounting brackets with hardware; wiring harness sold separately.
IMPORTANT: DD6893P is the selective yellow (3000K) Combo/Driving beam pattern version of the SS3 Pro LED Pod pair with Amber Backlight. The SS3 is built around a custom-engineered Total Internal Reflection (TIR) optic that collects all emitted light from the LED source and directs it precisely on target, eliminating the internal losses and glare associated with traditional reflector or lens-based designs. Unlike competing pods that lose up to 10% of output through a separate outer lens, the SS3’s TIR optic functions as both the primary optic and outer lens simultaneously — a patent-pending design that maximizes delivered intensity from a compact 3-inch form factor.
The selective yellow 3000K output of the DD6893P is purpose-engineered for poor-weather driving. Yellow light scatters less in fog, rain, and dust than cool white, delivering higher perceived contrast and reduced glare back toward the driver. When installed as a pair and aimed to state regulations, the SAE Fog pattern meets SAE J583 standard as a legal on-road foglamp; the SAE Driving pattern meets SAE J581 as a Driving/Auxiliary High Beam Light. All beam patterns were developed using optical simulation modeling to produce functional, real-world-useful spread rather than raw lumen numbers optimized for spec sheets.
The SS3 Pro features a distinctive amber backlight that fully illuminates the TIR optic housing for a modern accent appearance independent of the main beam. Each pod ships with a 6-inch pigtail and integrated DT-type Deutsch-style connector for clean, secure wiring. The aluminum housing is powder-coated for corrosion resistance and rated IP69K — sealed against high-pressure water intrusion. Operating range is -40°F to 185°F (-40°C to 85°C), and all Stage Series products are assembled in the United States and backed by Diode Dynamics™ warranty coverage.
