Description

The FOX® 983-02-144 is a Factory Race Series 2.0 ATS steering stabilizer with a tie rod clamp top mount and eyelet bottom mount, built as a single bolt-on unit for 2008-2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks.

IMPORTANT: This is the Factory Race Series 2.0 ATS single stabilizer, sold individually. It is a different series and configuration than FOX’s Performance Series 2.0 smooth body stabilizers, which are commonly sold as dual (pair) kits for the same Ford Super Duty platform. Confirm your tie rod clamp diameter and whether your application calls for a single or dual stabilizer setup before ordering, as these configurations are not interchangeable.

With conventional steering stabilizers, turning in one direction increases pressure inside the stabilizer as the shaft occupies more volume in the body and displaces oil. This creates a push or pull force felt by the driver as the stabilizer tries to return to its neutral state. Dual opposing stabilizers are often used to counter this, but that approach requires extra mounting hardware and space. The 983-02-144 addresses the issue in a single, bolt-on unit.

The Factory Race Series 2.0 Stabilizer ATS uses an Adjustable Through Shaft (ATS) architecture that eliminates shaft fluid displacement throughout the stabilizer’s entire travel in both directions. An external piggyback reservoir adds fluid capacity and uses an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) to separate the fluid from the nitrogen gas charge, preventing cavitation.

For control that can be tailored to any driving style and setup, an external adjuster provides 24 clicks of damping adjustment, allowing the feel to be fine-tuned to the driver’s preference while delivering consistent damping of unwanted steering feedback.

The body is a 2.0″ impact-extruded, CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum construction with a hard-anodized finish that resists corrosion. Internal components are black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the shaft is 5/8″ hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel. A redundant sealing pack (main seal, wiper seal, scraper seal) combines with a race-developed high-flow piston and application-specific valving for consistent long-term performance.
