Description
The FOX® 983-02-251 2.0 ATS Steering Stabilizer w/Bracket is a Factory Race Series, axle-mounted steering stabilizer built with Adjustable Through Shaft (ATS) architecture, fitting 2017-2022 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks.
IMPORTANT: This stabilizer is built for the axle-mounted configuration used on 2017-2022 Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with a Dana 60 rear axle, and it mounts directly to the differential cover using the supplied bracket and hardware. 2023-and-newer Ford Super Duty trucks use a Dana 50 axle and require FOX® part number 983-02-252 instead. F-350 Limited trim coverage begins in the 2018 model year; the Limited trim was not offered for 2017.
Conventional steering stabilizers create a push-or-pull steering force as the shaft displaces oil while turning in one direction. The FOX® 2.0 ATS Stabilizer eliminates this unidirectional force with an Adjustable Through Shaft design that keeps fluid displacement consistent throughout the stabilizer’s full range of travel in both directions, delivering consistent damping of unwanted steering feedback in a single, bolt-on unit.
An external piggyback reservoir adds fluid capacity and uses an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) to separate the fluid from the nitrogen gas charge, eliminating cavitation under hard use. A 24-click external compression adjuster lets the driver fine-tune steering feedback to match driving style and vehicle setup.
The stabilizer body is a 2.0-inch impact-extruded, CNC-machined 6061-T6 hard-anodized aluminum construction that resists corrosion over time. Internal components are black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the shaft is a 5/8-inch hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel unit riding on a redundant sealing pack (main seal, wiper seal, scraper seal). FOX® backs this stabilizer with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
