The FOX® 883-02-168 is a Factory Race Series 2.0 rear bump stop pair with Internal Floating Piston (IFP) technology, fitting 2018-2025 Jeep Wrangler JL models that carry at least 2.5″ of lift.
IMPORTANT: Requires at least 2.5″ of lift for proper installation — this bump stop is not designed for stock-height or minimally lifted Wranglers. The matching front bump stop is sold separately as FOX® part number 883-02-167, which fits all lift heights and also covers Jeep Gladiator JT. Modifications may be required for installation — confirm compatibility with your specific lift kit and mounting hardware before ordering.
Inspired by FOX®’s off-road racing predecessors, the Factory Race Series bump stop combines race-proven technology with cutting-edge features to provide increased damping performance and bottom-out control in the last few inches of suspension travel. The threaded body allows you to adjust mounting height to fine-tune exactly when the bump stop engages during up-travel, preventing harsh bottom-outs.
An Internal Floating Piston (IFP) in the shaft separates oil from high-pressure nitrogen gas to prevent cavitation and bucking, while a negative coil spring softens initial impacts and harsh top-outs. The integrated FOX® Air Valve (FAV) is located at the bottom of the shaft for easy access and is protected by a replaceable strike pad.
The body is threaded, impact-extruded, black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, which dissipates heat faster than steel. The shaft is hard chrome-plated 1-1/4″ 4130 steel, and the piston is heavy-duty powdered steel with tunable, velocity-sensitive deburred valve shims. A redundant sealing pack system — main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal — resists leaks. FOX® backs this bump stop with its standard Limited 1-Year Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
