Description

The FOX® 985-02-156 is a 2.0 Performance Series front Coil-Over IFP shock with an application-specific coil for 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks, delivering 2″-3.5″ of front lift on standard trims or 1.5″ of lift on Trail Boss and AT4 trims.

IMPORTANT: On standard (non-Trail Boss, non-AT4) trims, this shock requires an upper control arm at the 2″-3.5″ lift setting – it does not come with one, and one must be sourced separately. On Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and AT4 trims, this shock installs at 1.5″ of lift with no upper control arm required. This is an individual (single) shock, sold one per package – order two for a complete front pair. This SKU includes an application-specific spring; it does not reuse the factory spring or hardware. For a lower-lift, spring-reuse option that does not require an upper control arm, see FOX® part 985-62-012 (0″-2″ lift, Snap Ring design). This front shock is not available for the rear – Trail Boss and AT4 trims running this front shock at 1.5″ should pair with FOX® rear shock 987-24-029, which does not cover Trail Boss/AT4 configurations; confirm your rear shock separately.

This is a bolt-on FOX® Performance Series Coil-Over IFP shock loaded with advanced technology for owners looking to level their truck front-to-rear while upgrading damping performance. The precision, metal impact-extruded aluminum body increases cooling capacity and resists rust, and the vehicle-specific upper mount includes a composite bushing that isolates noise and vibration.

Locking, spring preload rings allow easy ride height and preload adjustment while retaining a top-quality racing coil selected to deliver the optimal spring rate for this application. This Performance Series Coil-Over IFP shock bolts on with no modifications and is designed to level the truck front-to-rear; applications are available for both stock and lifted trucks that reuse the stock shock mount.

Inside, an internal reservoir with an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design separates the shock oil from the high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber, eliminating oil aeration so the factory-tuned, precision valving performs at its best. This shock is backed by a FOX® Limited Lifetime Warranty.

  • Fits 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2022 Silverado 1500 LTD standard trims (Custom, High Country, LT, LTZ, PPV, RST, SSV, WT) and GMC Sierra 1500/Sierra 1500 Limited standard trims (Base, Denali, Denali Ultimate, Elevation, Pro, SLE, SLT) at 2″-3.5″ front lift, requires upper control arm; Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and AT4 trims at 1.5″ front lift, no upper control arm required
  • Application-specific racing coil spring selected for optimal spring rate – spring included, not a reuse-your-stock-spring design
  • 2.0″ impact-extruded, CNC-machined 6061-T6 clear-anodized aluminum one-piece body increases cooling capacity and resists rust
  • Vehicle-specific upper mount with composite bushing isolates noise and vibration
  • Locking spring preload rings for easy ride height and preload adjustment
  • Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design eliminates oil aeration for consistent, factory-tuned valving performance
  • Two-stage shim stack valving increases off-road bottom-out resistance while mitigating on-road vibration and harshness
  • Standard trims require a separately-sourced upper control arm at this lift height – Trail Boss/AT4 do not
  • Backed by a FOX® Limited Lifetime Warranty
  • Sold individually
