Part number 985-02-002 is a FOX® 2.0 Performance Series Coil-Over IFP front shock, sold individually, engineered as a direct bolt-on upgrade for 2003–2009 Toyota 4Runner, 2007–2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2003–2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 120, 2005–2014 Toyota Tacoma (RWD 6-lug models), and 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma trucks.
IMPORTANT: FOX® recommends a lighter spring rate for proper ride height and performance on 4-cylinder trucks running this shock. For 2016–2023 Toyota Tacoma applications, FOX® also offers part number 985-62-000, a Snap Ring IFP shock that reuses the factory spring and stock mounting hardware. These two part numbers are not interchangeable — confirm which configuration matches your intended spring setup before ordering.
This bolt-on Performance Series Coil-Over IFP shock features a precision, metal impact-extruded aluminum body that increases cooling capacity and resists rust over time. The vehicle-specific upper mount includes a composite bushing that isolates noise and vibration for a quieter, more controlled ride.
Locking, spring preload rings allow easy ride height and preload adjustment while retaining a top-quality racing coil selected to deliver the optimal spring rate. Performance Series Coil-Over IFP shocks bolt on with no modifications and are designed to level the truck front-to-rear, with applications available for both stock and lifted trucks that reuse the stock shock mount.
Inside, an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design separates the shock oil from the high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber, eliminating oil aeration and delivering maximum performance from the factory-tuned, precision valving. FOX® backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
