Part number 985-24-174 is the FOX® 2.0 Performance Series smooth body remote reservoir rear shock for 2017-2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks at 0-1 inch of rear lift, with 12.12 inches of travel and a billet reservoir clamp included.
IMPORTANT: This is the 0-1 inch rear lift version, built for stock-height and mildly lifted trucks. FOX® also offers a 4-6 inch rear lift Performance Series shock (part number 985-24-150) for the same 2017-2026 F-250/F-350 platform. Confirm your truck’s actual rear lift height before ordering, as installing the wrong lift-height shock will result in incorrect ride height and improper shock travel.
The aluminum-bodied Performance Series 2.0 Reservoir shock delivers race-proven damping technology from FOX® in a bolt-on package. Its 2.0 inch impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum body dissipates heat faster than a conventional steel-bodied shock, helping maintain consistent damping performance during sustained off-road use or towing.
An external reservoir increases oil and nitrogen capacity beyond what a standard monotube shock can hold, further improving heat dissipation and fade resistance. The included black-anodized billet reservoir clamp and other components are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum for durability.
A race-developed high-flow damping piston paired with application-specific valving delivers predictable ride quality over rough terrain. The 5/8 inch shaft is hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel, sealed by a redundant sealing pack with main, wiper, and scraper seals, and the shock is backed by the FOX® Limited Lifetime Warranty.
