Description

FOX® part number 985-02-136 is a 2.0 Performance Series IFP coilover shock for the front of 2019-2026 Ram 1500 4WD trucks (redesigned DT platform), built for stock ride height up to a 2in front lift. 2019-2020 and 2025-2026 cover all trims; 2021-2024 trim coverage is listed in the table below.

IMPORTANT: This shock excludes TRX models and trucks equipped with factory Air Ride suspension — it is not compatible with either. This SKU uses a Clevis lower mount and is built for the redesigned 2019+ Ram 1500 (DT platform) only. For the earlier-generation 2006-2023 Ram 1500 (gas), use FOX® part number 983-02-050. For diesel-powered 2014-2019 Ram 1500 trucks on the earlier platform, use FOX® part number 985-02-020, which uses an Eyelet lower mount.

This FOX® 2.0 Performance Series Coil-Over IFP shock is a bolt-on replacement that requires no modifications and is designed to level the front of the truck front-to-rear while re-using the stock upper shock mount. The vehicle-specific upper mount uses a composite bushing to isolate noise and vibration, and the shock retains a top-quality racing coil spring selected to deliver the correct spring rate for this application.

Inside the shock, an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design keeps the shock oil separated from the high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber. Keeping the oil and gas separate prevents oil aeration, so the factory-tuned, application-specific valving keeps performing consistently under hard use rather than fading as the shock heats up.

The shock body is an impact-extruded, CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum one-piece design with a clear-anodized finish that resists corrosion and dissipates heat faster than a comparable steel body. Internal components are black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, the shaft is hard chrome-plated heat-treated alloy steel, and the shock rides on large-diameter, heavy-duty spherical bearings with a redundant seal pack (main seal, wiper seal, scraper seal). FOX® backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Do not order this part for the earlier-generation Ram 1500 spanning 2006-2023 (use FOX® 983-02-050) or for diesel-powered 2014-2019 Ram 1500 trucks (use FOX® 985-02-020) — these use a different body length and are not interchangeable with this SKU.
