FOX® part number 985-24-140 is a 2.0 Performance Series smooth-body remote-reservoir front shock with 10.58″ of travel, built for Nissan Patrol Y60 (1988-1997) and Y61 (1997-2023) models running 3″-5.5″ of front lift.
IMPORTANT: This shock includes a universal mounting bracket and does NOT fit leaf spring-equipped models. For Nissan Patrol Y60 2WD applications with leaf spring front suspension, use FOX® part number 985-24-076 instead – the two part numbers are not interchangeable, as they use different top and bottom mount configurations (985-24-140 uses a stem top and stem bottom mount, while 985-24-076 uses SM3 mounts on both ends).
The FOX® 2.0 Performance Series Reservoir shock delivers FOX® race-developed damping technology in an affordable, hassle-free bolt-on package. Its heat-reducing design uses a metal impact-extruded, clear-anodized aluminum shock body that dissipates heat faster than a conventional steel-bodied shock and resists rust over time.
The external reservoir increases oil and nitrogen capacity for more consistent damping under sustained off-road use, while adding a distinct race-inspired look. The black-anodized reservoir mounting clamp and other components are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum.
A race-developed, high-flow damping piston is matched with application-specific valving to deliver a predictable ride over rough terrain, and the redundant seal pack of main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal protects against contamination. FOX® backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

This shock is application-specific to the front axle of the Nissan Patrol Y60 (1988-1997) and Y61 (1997-2023) for vehicles running 3″-5.5″ of front lift on non-leaf-spring suspension. Vehicles with leaf spring front suspension are not compatible with this part number – those applications require FOX® 985-24-076 instead.
