Description
The FOX® 985-62-011 Performance Series 2.0 Coil-Over Snap Ring IFP shock is a front strut assembly with 4.79 inches of travel, offering 0″, 1″, or 2″ of adjustable lift for 6-lug 2005–2015 Toyota Tacoma applications. Sold individually.
IMPORTANT: This shock fits 6-lug Tacoma applications only. On 2WD/PreRunner Base, PreRunner, and TRD Sport models, this shock is not compatible with TRD Pro springs. The spring is not included with this shock, and the unit reuses your factory mounting hardware. Confirm your exact submodel and drive type against the fitment section below before ordering — this SKU covers specific Tacoma configurations only, not all trims across all years.
This is a bolt-on coilover strut solution built around a new custom-molded spring seat, which allows you to reuse your stock spring and factory mounting hardware while upgrading damping performance both on- and off-road. The 2.0-inch body is impact-extruded and CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum in a one-piece design that resists rust over the life of the shock.
Inside the shock, an internal nitrogen-charged gas reservoir is contained by an internal floating piston (IFP), which separates the charged gas from the shock oil. This keeps oil from mixing with the nitrogen — a problem that can occur with the stock twin-tube shock — so the factory-tuned, application-specific valving can perform at its full potential. Three predetermined preload settings give you a choice of 0″, 1″, or 2″ of lift. The shock uses a stem-top mount at the top and an eyelet mount at the bottom, riding on large-diameter, heavy-duty spherical bearings, with a redundant sealing pack (main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal) protecting the internals.
The shaft is 5/8″ hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel, paired with a race-developed high-flow piston design for consistent damping. Body components are black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, and the main body carries a clear-anodized finish for long-term durability. This shock is backed by FOX’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
