The FOX 983-02-070 2.0 Performance Series ATS Steering Stabilizer is a single-unit, Adjustable Through Shaft steering damper built for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK 2-Door and 4-Door models (2WD/4WD) running the stock 1-3/8″ tie rod, featuring 24 clicks of external compression adjustment and an integrated remote reservoir.
IMPORTANT: This stabilizer includes FOX’s relocating hardware — a track bar relocation bolt and a 1-3/8″ tie-rod mounting clamp — sized for the stock tie rod. Vehicles running an aftermarket 1-5/8″ tie rod require the optional larger mounting clamp, which is sold separately and not included in this kit. Shock boots, roost shields, and mounting plates are also sold separately.
The FOX Performance Series Adjustable Through Shaft (ATS) steering stabilizer replaces two conventional opposing stabilizers with a single unit, canceling unwanted steering feedback in both directions. This gives the Wrangler JK’s front end a more controlled, predictable feel, particularly with larger, more aggressive tires that amplify steering kickback.
The ATS design routes damping through a shaft that resists motion in both directions of steering input rather than relying on a single-direction damper. An integrated remote reservoir increases fluid capacity and improves cooling during sustained or extreme use, helping the stabilizer maintain consistent damping performance on long trail runs.
External tuning is handled through 24 clicks of compression adjustment, allowing the stabilizer to be dialed in from a lighter on-road feel to a firmer setting for aggressive off-road use. The relocation hardware included with this kit repositions the stabilizer up and out of the way of the stock tie rod for improved ground clearance and component protection.
Construction consists of a one-piece, impact-extruded and CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum body with a clear-anodized finish for corrosion resistance, paired with black-anodized CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum components. The aluminum body dissipates heat faster than steel, and the unit is fully serviceable and tunable for extended service life. This stabilizer is backed by FOX’s one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.
