The FOX® 987-24-048 is a 2.5 Performance Series HTO (Hydraulic Top Out) front shock, built for 2014-2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD trucks running a 4″-6″ front lift, sold individually.
IMPORTANT: This is one of four front lift-height options in FOX®’s 2.5 Performance Series HTO lineup for this application. FOX® 987-24-004 covers a 0″-1.5″ front lift, FOX® 987-24-045 covers a 2″-3″ front lift, and FOX® 987-24-046 covers a 3″-4″ front lift — all for the same 2014-2026 Ram 2500/3500 trucks. Confirm your front lift height before ordering, as these four part numbers are not interchangeable.
This shock replaces the front shock on 2014-2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD trucks with a bolt-on shock loaded with position-sensitive technology, vehicle-specific valving, and larger pistons to improve both on-road and off-road performance over the stock shock.
The 2.5″ shock body is Type II anodized aluminum, which efficiently dissipates heat and resists corrosion, and houses an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) that separates the shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen charge to optimize damping consistency.
Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology gives this shock usable, position-sensitive rebound damping control both on and off the pavement. HTO reduces harsh top-outs and increases ride comfort by forcing shock oil through a secondary shim stack to slow shock shaft speed as it approaches full extension — particularly beneficial after installing heavier, more aggressive tires or lifting the truck above OEM ride height. The shock is built around a 5/8″ hard chrome-plated shaft and is backed by FOX®’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
