The FOX® 987-24-050 is a 2.5 Performance Series HTO (Hydraulic Top Out) rear shock, built for 2014-2026 Ram 3500 4WD trucks running a 2″-3.5″ rear lift, sold individually.
IMPORTANT: This part number fits Ram 3500 only. This is the higher of two rear lift-height options in FOX®’s 2.5 Performance Series HTO lineup for the Ram 3500 — FOX® 987-24-027 covers the same trucks at a 0″-1.5″ rear lift and is compatible with both single rear wheel (SRW) and dual rear wheel (DRW) trucks, including air-suspension-equipped trucks. Confirm your exact model and rear lift height before ordering.
This shock replaces the rear shock on 2014-2026 Ram 3500 4WD trucks with a bolt-on shock loaded with position-sensitive technology, vehicle-specific valving, and larger pistons to improve both on-road and off-road performance over the stock shock.
The 2.5″ shock body is Type II anodized aluminum, which efficiently dissipates heat and resists corrosion, and houses an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) that separates the shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen charge to optimize damping consistency.
Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology gives this shock usable, position-sensitive rebound damping control both on and off the pavement. HTO reduces harsh top-outs and increases ride comfort by forcing shock oil through a secondary shim stack to slow shock shaft speed as it approaches full extension — particularly beneficial after installing heavier, more aggressive tires or lifting the truck above OEM ride height. The shock is built around a 5/8″ hard chrome-plated shaft and is backed by FOX®’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
