The FOX® 987-24-009 2.5 Performance Series HTO Rear Shock is a bolt-on rear shock with Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology and vehicle-specific valving, sold individually for the 2011-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 2011-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, 2011-2026 GMC Sierra 2500 HD, and 2011-2026 GMC Sierra 3500 HD, valved for a 0″-1″ lift height.
IMPORTANT: This shock is valved specifically for a 0″-1″ lift height per FOX® fitment notes — it is not intended for use outside this lift range. This listing is for the REAR shock only and is sold individually (one shock), not as a pair or a front/rear kit; a separate FOX® front shock part number is required to complete a full application. The FOX® 2.5 Performance Series HTO shock uses a 2.5″ impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum shock body to improve on-road and off-road performance over a stock shock, without the added complexity of a reservoir or external compression adjuster. The shock body houses an internal floating piston (IFP) that separates the shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen charge to optimize damping consistency.
Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology delivers position-sensitive rebound damping control both on and off pavement. As the shock nears full extension, HTO forces shock oil through a secondary shim stack to slow shaft speed, which reduces harsh top-outs and increases ride comfort — a benefit that becomes more noticeable after installing larger, heavier tires or lifting a truck beyond OEM ride height.
The shock body is finished with Type II clear-anodized plating for corrosion resistance and efficient heat dissipation, and uses a 5/8″ hard chrome shaft for durability. Both the top and bottom mounts are eyelet-style. This shock is backed by FOX’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.
