The FOX® 2.5 Performance Elite Series front shock (part number 883-26-097) is a remote reservoir coilover shock with Dual Speed Compression (DSC) adjustment, 8.78″ of travel, and a 2.5″–3.5″ front lift height, designed for 2017–2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty and 2017–2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4WD applications.

The FOX® 2.5 Performance Elite Series is a bolt-on front shock upgrade engineered to increase off-road capability while maintaining the composure and stability needed for daily driving and towing. The remote reservoir design expands oil volume over a standard monotube shock, which helps sustain consistent damping performance during extended off-road use or heavy-load hauling without the performance fade that occurs when shock fluid overheats. This unit is designed for trucks running 2.5″–3.5″ of front lift.
The 2.5″ impact-extruded, CNC-machined 6061-T6 Type III hard-anodized aluminum body paired with an aluminum external reservoir efficiently dissipates heat by increasing oil capacity. A 7/8″ hard chrome-plated steel shaft resists deflection under load, and a redundant sealing pack — consisting of a main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal — protects internal components against contamination over the long term. The larger, high-flow piston increases bottom-out resistance and improves damping response across all terrain types. Vehicle-specific valving is calibrated for the F-250 and F-350 Super Duty platform, so the shock performs correctly from the factory without requiring revalving.
The 2.5″ smooth-bore, honed seamless alloy reservoir is equipped with FOX’s Dual Speed Compression (DSC) adjuster, which allows the driver to independently tune low-speed and high-speed compression damping. Low-speed compression affects body roll, dive, and squat during on-road and moderate-speed driving; high-speed compression controls damping response during sharp impacts, obstacles, and aggressive off-road terrain. The remote reservoir is positioned to clear aggressive tires at full steering lock. Shocks are backed by FOX’s Limited Lifetime Warranty on 2.0 & 2.5 Performance Series products purchased after 3/30/2025.
