The FOX® 2.5 Performance Series Front IFP Coilover Shock (987-02-015) is a bolt-on 2.5″ front coilover with Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology, providing 0″-2.25″ of front lift on 2025-2026 Toyota 4Runner, 2024-2026 Lexus GX550, and 2024-2026 Toyota Land Cruiser (250 Series).
IMPORTANT: This is FOX®’s standard-tune 2.5 Performance Series front coilover for this platform and does not carry the “Designed for Heavy Payload” application note. A HD Tune version of this same coilover — FOX® part 987-02-016 — covers identical years, vehicles, and lift range and is specifically designated for heavy payload applications; confirm which tune matches your typical load before ordering. The matching rear shock for these trucks is FOX® part 987-24-058 (0″-2″ rear lift). This front coilover also differs from FOX®’s 2.0″ body Performance Series coilover for the same platform (part 985-02-157), which uses a smaller-diameter shock body — the two series are not interchangeable.
FOX® Performance Series 2.5 shocks for the Land Cruiser 250, GX550, and 4Runner are a bolt-on solution with vehicle-specific valving and larger pistons than the 2.0 Performance Series, improving both on-road and off-road performance. This coilover levels the vehicle without straining ball joints or linkages, maintaining OEM reliability and vehicle behavior.
Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) technology offers usable position-sensitive rebound damping control on and off pavement. HTO reduces harsh top-outs and increases comfort by forcing shock oil through a secondary shim stack to slow shock shaft speed — particularly beneficial after installing heavier, aggressive tires or on applications lifted higher than OEM specification.
The 2.5″ impact-extruded, Type II clear-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum shock body pairs with a 5/8″ hard chrome shaft and an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) for high-flow, velocity-sensitive damping. FOX® backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
