The FOX® 981-20-042 Factory Race 2.0 x 3.0 Bump Stop with Pinch Mount is a stand-alone, nitrogen-adjustable bump stop featuring a 1-1/4in. hard chrome plated 4130 chromoly steel shaft, a top Pinch mount, 13.19in. extended length, and 10.15in. compressed length (3in. of travel) for precise control of the last inches of suspension travel. This is a universal, application-independent component intended for custom off-road builds and race applications rather than a specific vehicle platform.
IMPORTANT: This bump stop is equipped with a top Pinch mount and no bottom mount bracket (Bottom Mount: None) — verify your chassis or shock mounting interface uses a pinch-style upper mount before purchasing, as no lower mounting hardware is included. This is a stand-alone Factory Race Series bump stop only; it does not include a shock body, coilover, or reservoir. The built-in FOX Air Valve (FAV) requires a nitrogen charging station to adjust bottoming control — this is not a user-serviceable air/oil spring shock and should be charged with nitrogen only. FOX® Factory Race Series bump stops were developed alongside top off-road racing teams to provide precise control of the last few inches of suspension travel, allowing the full range of suspension travel to be used without harsh bottoming. As a stand-alone component, this bump stop can be integrated into custom suspension setups where a dedicated, tunable bottoming control device is needed.
The built-in FOX Air Valve (FAV) allows precise nitrogen charge adjustments, giving builders a wide range of bottoming control to match spring rate, travel, and driving style. The durable construction and replaceable strike pad are built to withstand repeated high-speed impacts while providing predictable, quiet operation.
Construction includes a hard chrome plated 4130 chromoly steel shaft, Black Anodized CNC machined aluminum components, and a new proprietary Cerakote® protective ceramic coating over a zinc-plated basecoat for corrosion resistance. The unit is owner serviceable and rebuildable, and is charged with JM92 MIL-SPEC oil developed specifically for off-road racing. Covered by FOX’s standard suspension product warranty.
