FOX Off-Road Factory Race Series bump stops were developed with top off-road racing teams to provide precise control over the last few inches of suspension travel. As a purpose-built, stand-alone component, this bump stop lets a vehicle use every bit of available suspension travel without harsh bottoming, rather than relying on the shock itself to absorb final impact.
A built-in FOX Air Valve (FAV), located at the bottom of the shaft and protected by the strike pad, allows the internal nitrogen charge to be adjusted for a wide range of bottoming control. The threaded body allows the mounting height to be adjusted to fine-tune exactly when the bump stop engages. An Internal Floating Piston (IFP) separates the oil and nitrogen to prevent cavitation and bucking, while tunable velocity-sensitive deburred valve shims allow the damping to be tuned to the application. A negative coil spring softens initial impact and prevents harsh top-outs.
The body is a threaded, impact-extruded, black-anodized CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum construction. The shaft is a hard chrome-plated 1-1/4″ 4130 steel shaft paired with a heavy-duty powdered steel piston. A redundant sealing pack system — main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal — protects against leaks, and the strike pad is a replaceable Delrin® pad for quiet, long-lasting operation.
