The FOX® 985-24-104 2.0 Performance Series shock is a 12.12-inch travel, smooth-body rear shock with an external bypass piggyback reservoir, fitting Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty trucks across model years 1999-2016 at ride heights that vary by model and year.
IMPORTANT: Lift height compatibility is not uniform across this shock’s full application range. F-250 Super Duty (1999-2016) and most F-350 Super Duty years fit at 0-1in of lift; F-350 Super Duty model years 2009, 2014, and 2016 instead require 1-2in of lift. F-450 Super Duty fitment alternates by year between 0-1in of lift (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015) and 4.5-5.5in of lift (2005-2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016). F-550 Super Duty (2005-2016) fits at 4.5-5.5in of lift across all covered years. Confirm your exact model year and current ride height against the fitment table below before ordering. Trucks running 4-6in of rear lift should see FOX® part number 985-24-106 instead. FOX® direct-replacement smooth body shocks should always be installed as a pair for consistent handling.
The aluminum-bodied Performance Series 2.0 Reservoir smooth body shock delivers FOX’s race-developed damping performance in an affordable, hassle-free bolt-on package. Its heat-reducing design uses a metal-impacted, clear-anodized aluminum shock body that dissipates heat faster than a conventional steel-body shock.
The external reservoir adds oil and nitrogen capacity while giving the shock a distinct race look. The included black-anodized reservoir mounting clamp and other components are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. A race-developed high-flow damping piston matched with application-specific valving delivers predictable ride quality capable of handling rough road conditions.
The shock body is 2.0″ impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum that resists rust over time, with a clear-anodized finish for durability. The shaft is 5/8″ hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel, sealed with a redundant sealing pack system (main seal, wiper seal, scraper seal).
