The FOX® 2.0 Performance Series Front IFP Coilover Shock (985-62-001) is a bolt-on front coilover with a custom-molded spring seat that reuses your factory coil spring and mounting hardware, engineered for 0″-2″ of front lift on 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner and 2010-2021 Toyota FJ Cruiser.
IMPORTANT: This kit does NOT include a coil spring. It reuses your factory stock spring and stock mounting hardware via a new custom-molded spring seat – do not order this SKU expecting a new spring in the box. If you want a kit that ships with a new coil spring and adjustable preload rings, FOX® part 983-02-051 covers the same 4Runner and FJ Cruiser years at the same 0″-2″ front lift range and additionally covers Toyota Land Cruiser Prado; the two SKUs are not interchangeable. FJ Cruiser coverage for model years 2015-2021 applies to UAE/export-spec vehicles only, as FJ Cruiser was not sold new in the US market past 2014.
The impact-extruded aluminum coilover body is lightweight and corrosion-resistant, and the shock bolts on with no cutting, drilling, or fabrication. Three predetermined preload settings let you choose 0″, 1″, or 2″ of front lift while running your original spring.
Inside, an internal nitrogen-charged gas reservoir is contained by an Internal Floating Piston (IFP), which keeps the charged gas separated from the shock oil – unlike a stock twin-tube shock, where the two can mix under hard use. This allows the factory-tuned, application-specific valving to perform consistently on-road and off-road.
The shock body and internal components are CNC-machined from black-anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum. A 5/8″ hard chrome-plated, heat-treated alloy steel shaft runs through a redundant sealing pack (main seal, wiper seal, scraper seal) and large-diameter, heavy-duty spherical bearings. FOX® backs this shock with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
