The FOX® 883-26-145 Factory Race 2.5 Series Internal Bypass Rear Shock Pair with external DSC reservoirs is engineered for a 2-3in rear lift height and fits 2003-2024 Toyota 4Runner and 2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser models.
IMPORTANT: This application requires Extended Sway Bar Links for proper fitment and operation — these are not included and must be purchased separately. This is the Factory Race Series internal bypass rear shock pair at 2-3in lift height; do not confuse it with FOX® 883-26-144, the 0-1.5in lift height Factory Race rear shock pair for the same platform, or with FOX® 883-26-116, the Performance Elite Series rear shock pair (also 2-3in lift) which does not use internal bypass damping.
FOX® Factory Race Series 2.5 Internal Bypass shocks bring velocity- and position-sensitive damping technology to the Toyota 4Runner rear axle, combining Dual Speed Compression (DSC) adjustment with high-speed-ready performance in a bolt-on rear shock kit.
Patented Internal Bypass technology creates multiple zones of damping control within a single shock. Shock fluid bypasses the main piston through a series of bleed holes in the ride zone; as the shock extends past the ride zone in rebound or compression, the bleed holes terminate and fluid is forced through the main piston. This produces increasingly progressive damping force to control hard bottom-outs, prevent harsh top-outs, and provide an initial catch for landings, resulting in a more comfortable, confident ride with greater damping capacity through rough terrain.
Each shock uses a 2.5in impact-extruded and CNC-machined 6061-T6 Type III anodized aluminum body for corrosion and wear resistance. The external reservoir increases oil capacity and houses an internal floating piston (IFP) to separate shock oil from the nitrogen charge, maintaining consistent damping and keeping shock temperatures cool. A Dual Speed Compression (DSC) adjuster allows on-the-fly tuning for load, environment, and driving style. Application-specific springs and vehicle-specific tuning are matched to this platform, and 7/8in hard chrome-plated steel shafts run through a redundant sealing pack system — main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal.
