Part number 883-02-025 is the FOX® Factory Race Series 2.5 Coil-Over IFP Front Shock Pair — a bolt-on coilover assembly delivering 0–3 inches of front lift height for 2003–2024 Toyota 4Runner (all drive types), 2005–2023 Toyota Tacoma (4WD and 6-lug RWD), and 2007–2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser (all drive types). Kit includes two coilover shock assemblies with integrated coil springs, washers, bushings, and nuts.
IMPORTANT: This coilover requires an Upper Control Arm. UCA is sold separately and is not included. Additionally, 2005–2015 Tacoma RWD fitment is restricted to the 6-lug version only; 4-lug RWD Tacomas are not supported. Tacoma lift height is 0–2 inches for model years 2016–2023; 4Runner and FJ Cruiser achieve up to 0–3 inches of lift. Coilovers come pre-set at maximum lift height.
The FOX® Factory Race Series 2.5 Coil-Over IFP is built on race-proven damping technology derived from FOX® off-road competition shocks. Before any FOX® shock reaches production, it must prove itself against the abuse of competitive racing — that same performance is transferred directly to your Toyota. The coilover design combines the shock absorber and integrated coil spring into a single, easy-to-install assembly that handles both suspension damping and vehicle support simultaneously.
At the heart of this coilover is FOX®’s Internal Floating Piston (IFP) reservoir — a monotube design that physically separates shock oil from high-pressure nitrogen gas. This separation eliminates oil aeration and foaming under repeated hard use, maintaining consistent damping performance regardless of terrain intensity. Valving is application-specific to the Toyota platform, optimizing damping force for the actual weight and geometry of these vehicles rather than applying a generic tune.
The integrated coil spring is adjustable for both preload and ride height, arriving preset to level your vehicle straight out of the box. The 7/8-inch hardened NitroSteel® carbon shaft resists bending and corrosion across the full range of suspension travel. A redundant sealing system — comprising a main seal, wiper seal, and scraper seal — protects internal components against contamination from dirt, mud, and water. PTFE-lined, heat-treated alloy steel spherical bearings handle articulation demands at the mounting points. All shocks are 100% rebuildable and serviceable for long-term use.
The 2.5-inch smooth-bore seamless steel body is zinc-plated and double-clear coated for corrosion resistance. All aluminum components — including the high-flow piston and structural hardware — are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet and black-anodized for durability. FOX® backs these shocks with a limited one-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase from an authorized FOX® dealer.
