FOX® part number 883-26-148 is a pair of 2.5 Performance Elite Series rear shock absorbers for the 2014–2026 Ram 3500, featuring a 2.5″ smooth body with external reservoir, 10.48″ of travel, and application-specific valving for 0″–1.5″ lift heights.
IMPORTANT: This listing is for a pair of rear shocks (left and right). Fitment covers 2014–2026 Ram 3500 with single and dual rear wheel configurations. This shock does not fit Ram 3500 trucks equipped with air suspension.
FOX® 2.5 Performance Elite Series shocks draw their design directly from FOX’s off-road race shock program, translating competition-proven damping technology into a bolt-on upgrade for the Ram 3500. The external reservoir increases oil and nitrogen capacity beyond what a standard smooth-body shock can carry, giving the shock greater thermal stability and more consistent damping performance under sustained hard use — whether that means repeated towing cycles, washboard dirt roads, or off-pavement trail work. Applications are engineered to fit stock ride heights and trucks with up to 1.5″ of lift without modification.
At the core of the Performance Elite Series is a race-developed high-flow piston paired with application-specific valving calibrated precisely for the Ram 3500’s weight, geometry, and suspension travel. The 7/8″ hard chrome plated, heat-treated alloy steel shaft resists bending and corrosion under load. PTFE-lined, heat-treated alloy steel spherical bearings at both mount points provide smooth articulation and long-term durability. Both the top and bottom mount use an eyelet configuration for direct, factory-style installation.
The 2.5″ body is impact extruded and CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a hard-anodized coating for corrosion resistance. Components are black-anodized, CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum throughout. FOX® backs the 2.5 Performance Elite Series with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the original retail owner when purchased new from an authorized FOX dealer.
